Gosnells
Station
The new Gosnells Station, 21st of April 2005
Opened : 1905 (Orignal Station
1905 - 2005, Current Station 2005 - Present)
Original Name :
Gosnells (1905 - present)
Station History :
The island platform station of Gosnells, was
built
in 1905, how ever it is believed that the position along the line from
Perth
to Armadale where the old Gosnells station is, was used as a stopping
place for passengers
for many years before the station was built.
On the 17th of April 2005, the new Gosnells Station, situated a few
hundred metres towards Perth on the Armadale Line officially opened,
signalling the
end of use of the old wooden island platform, Gosnells station that had
been in use since 1905. The new station is a very simular design to
that of
Showgrounds and also shares some of the same design features of
stations such as Maylands, Bassendean and Armadale.
I prefer this design of Station to that of the ones on the Northern
Suburbs line, which may look nice now, but in the future, become
outdated, compared to this
design which is safe and contemporary.
