Corrigin Station
Corrigin Station
The 1960's built, Corrigin Station, March 2003
Built : 1913
Original Name : Dondakin (1913 to 15th of May 1914)
Corrigin (15th of May 1914 to present)
Station History : The first Corrigin station was built in 1913 with the opening of the rail line from Merridin to Narrogin. It was a island platrform configuration,
(built between the two tracks that you can see in front of the present building). The first building was destroyed by fire in the mid 1960s, the present station was
built a bit closer to the town center. The station used to have a turn table for turning steam locos but this was filled in and a triangle was built because a young
boy died from injuries received while playing in the turn table pit.

You will notice that P class diesel locos are named after towns or shires in WA, P2010 is named, after the Shire of Corrigin.
