Cottesloe Station
Cottesloe Station
(Cottesloe Station, Jan 2002)
Built : 1890 (still in use)
Original Name : Cottesloe
Station History : The main importance of Cottesloe along the Eastern Railways was that it was the junction for the freight line that ran along the back of
Victoria Street Station and Mosman Park Station along the line from the Leighton rail yard at Leighton Station. The current platform being
used is the old island platform of the station, as you pass the station you can still see the 1st platform on the town side of the line, which no longer has a
track running along it and isn’t in use any longer. The Stations rail yards are long gone and only spare land is left where the freight line used to be.

Cottesloe has only been used over the years as a passenger halt and the junct ion for the freight line to join the double narrow gauge line to Perth, as well
as being responsible for various private sidings in the area.
