East Northam

Located on the Eastern Goldfields Line,
between Northam Station and Seabrook. However today, East Northam is
only accessable via the narrow gauge,
Goomalling Line, which runs along side the EGR, from Avon Yard to just
east of East Northam Yard, where it heads north to Goomalling. East
Northam,
used to be a Station, with a platform, station building and narrow
gauge yard with sidings into the ajacent industrial area. Until 1966,
west and east bound
trains would pass through East Northam, prior to or after arriving at
the old Northam Station, on the other side of town. When the new
Standard Gauge line
opened in 1966, the line was continued on through East Northam, heading
towards the Avon Valley, resulting in the closure of the old narrow
gauge line,
through the middle of town.
In recent times, East Northam has had it's run around facility removed,
making it a dead end siding.
