Dunedin is located on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Dunedin Station is located between Balclutha and Timaru.

These days the line through Dunedin is only used by goods trains, with no
regular passenger services still in use, except for the Taieri Gorge Railway Tourist Train.

The Taieri Gorge Tourist train departs Dunedin daily (except Christmas Day) and makes it's
way south of Dunedin, before it heads inland to Taieri Gorge.
