Classic Scenes of 2003, Page 1

1
AB1535 and on the lead of the Albany Woodchipper through Albany Station for the Woodchip Mill, on the 9th of January 2003
(Another sight no longer seen, AB's hauling the Albany Woodchip Train, these days it's the domain of the imported NJ's)

2
XA1401, on HVTR Witches Express, roaring through Fremantle, for Pinjarra, on the 14th of January 2003
(A classic shot of the XA, couldn't not put it in here)

3
DA1577, AB1536 and DA1572, stabled at Forrestfield Yard, on the 1st of March 2003
(DA1577, is now 1907, with it's nose half cut off and based in South Aust, so an obvious choice)

4
Y1108, on the Boulder Loop Line Tourist Train, at the old Super Pit Lookout, 5th of April 2003
(in mothballs right now, the Boulder Loop Line, back in the days of operation)

5
The Prospector, at Merredin Station, 6th of April 2003
(it's easy to see why I loved taking photos of the old Prossie Railcars, so much charaster)

7
Pm706, on the HVTR Wizards Express, passing the Round House in Fremantle, 29th of April 2003.
(one of the few photos I actually have of the HVTR Wizard Express Tours, operated from Fremantle)

7
BT1, arriving with consist, at Mussel Pool Station, 25th of May 2003
(Just a classic shot, of how things used to be, Mussel Pool Signalman Garry is about to receive the Staff from the driver of BT1)

8
W945-Pm706, on the Collie Coalfields Explorer, just as it had arrived at Collie, on the 7th of June 2003
(in the days when HVTR still did mainline Tours, the Collie Tours were the most popular, always pulling a large crowd,
for the ride, chase and for the arrival at Collie)

9
ZB2129, on it's first trial run in WA, for South Spur Rail, hauling a Ballast train, through Midland Terminal, 21st of June 2003
(A stroke of luck, happen to be out at Midland, one afternoon and managed to get the ZB for the first time, on it's first run)

10
The Australind in it's new paint scheme, departing Perth Station for Bunbury, 16th of July 2003.
(First photos I took of the Australind in it's new colours.... note the last car still in the old Westrail Colours)
