Built :
1893 Original Name :
Donnybrook Station History :
Donnybrook Station was constructed in 1893, after the line from Bunbury
to Bonyanup was extended to Donnybrook.
Donnybrook was a major junction, for the lines that connected to Boyup
Brook and Northcliffe. Donnybrook, was first a gold rush town, then
a timber town and today it is the home of the States Apple orchards.
In the 1980's the line from Kantanning to Boyup Brook was pulled up and
eventually, the line from Boyup Brook toWilga, half way between Boyup
Brook and Donnybrook was pulled up in the early 90's, (I think!).
Donnybrook Station, is a very simular design to Brookton and
Wyalkatchem
Stations, with a rather large and long station building, compared to
the more frequent small stations around the state. Recently, Donnybrook
Station
has been restored and now houses the towns Tourist Information
Centre.
