Bunbury Station, 10th of September 2003
Built : 1888
Original Name : Bunbury
Station History : Originally constructed for the line from Bunbury to Boyanup, in 1888, however it wasn't until 1893, when trains would be leaving
from Bunbury Station, travelling up to Perth along the newly completed, Southwest Line, through Brunswick Junction, Pinjarra and Armadale. Bunbury
to this day still has a daily passenger train service still operating to and from Perth, this is the Australind. However today, no trains, pull up at the old
Bunbury Station, (pictured), the tracks have long since been removed and now the Australind arrives and departs at Bunbury Terminal (Wollaston).
Old Bunbury Station, these days is used as a tourist beauru and the Bunbury Bus terminal. In recent years, there has been a small push for the re-instatement of
a railway to the old station, using the frieght line to the north of the station, which is only a few hundred metres away.
