Station History :
Clackline, was a junction along the Eastern Railway between, Chidlow
and
Spencers Brook, it had a branch line leaving from the east end
of the station, which connected to Toodyay, which opened in 1888 (and
eventually
extended to Miling). Clackline Station, had 3 platforms, which still
survive
today, however, the station's passenger shelter, signal cabin,
locomotive
turntable, engine sheds and footbridge didn't survive.
In 1966, the line from Bellevue to Wundowie was closed and pulled up,
due
to the dual gauge Avon Valley line opening, however the section of the
Eastern
Railway between, Spencer's Brook and Wundowie, continued to be used,
for
transporting iron ore to the Foundry at Wundowie. For 14 year, once a
day
the iron ore train would pass by Clackline, until 1980, when the rail
service
ceased.
