Station
is situated on the former Northern Line, from Mullewa to Wiluna, this
line
closed in 1978, shortly after the
line was pulled up, only a handful of sandstone constructed stations
were left, Yalgoo is one of the few stations that still survives,
recently it
has been given a new life in the town of Yalgoo, it has been restored
and is part of their sport and recreation facilities, with a race track
in
the
station yard and the ground on the platform side of the station, risen
to provide a grassed area to watch the races from.
The two water tanks also survive at Yalgoo, one being of the old cast
iron square tank, situated on the eastern end of town and the other a
steel structure located on the eastern of the station platform. The
goods crane is also still intact and is a display item at the front of
the old
station building near the parking area.
