Ardath Ammunitions Depot Site, 31st of August 2007
This is where the siding ran from the main line at Ardath into the Ardath Ammunitions Depot in WW2.
The siding ended in the trees seen above the left corner of the dam in the foreground. The Ammunitions
depot itself was located over the ridge beyond the trees. Ammunition was unloaded from the trains
onto horse and carts for the movement to the depot. Motor vehicals were banned in the depot. This
pic was taken from the Ardath - Bruce Rock road, about 50 metres south of the present level crossing.
